Excitation

Voith Hydro AS has developed a complete range of excitation systems specially adapted for hydro power. The systems can fulfill most requirements and configurations for outputs up to 4000 A.

 The systems family is:

  • Thyricon 500
  • Thyricon 600
  

The excitation systems are manufactured in Trondheim in cooperation with Siemens Norway.

Power system stabilizers (PSS) can also be installed for enhanced support for grid stability.

The Norwegian Voith Hydro AS also has the worldwide responsibility for supplying excitation systems to other operating units within Voith Hydro.
